Carling Cubs

A young Arsenal side with an average age of 19 demolished Sheffield United 6-0 in the Carling Cup. Carlos Vela scored a hat-trick and Nicklas Bendtner scored twice. Jack Wilshere, the 16-year old scored a goal too.

Arabs with money bags…

The EPL transfer window closed on 31st.  The Sheikhs from Abu Dhabi not only bought Man City, but also threw in Robinho. Finally a new club to challenge Chelsea in throwing away money.

After a 0-1 loss to Fulham, the whole world started doubting Arsenal’s credentials. What a comeback. They decimated Newcastle 3-0 today. If not for Shay Given in the Toon goal, there would have been half-a-dozen goals for Arsenal today. Young Denilson gets his first goal for Arsenal. What a moment.

The Premier League season ends tomorrow. Manchester United are on the verge of winning the championship. If they beat Wigan tomorrow, it wouldn’t matter if Chelsea win or lose. Man U will be crowned champions.

Interesting observation on the EPL season so far… 
Fulham’s league position would have been 1st, if based purely on the score at half time.
Which goes to show that football really is a game of two halves. However, Lawrie Sanchez’s team can’t hold on to a lead. Which is why they are 19th on second-half scores alone [...]

This Saturday, at the Emirates Stadium, the premier league’s greatest rivals meet once again. Sir Alex will once again pit his wits against The Professor.
Both Arsenal and Manchester United are tied on 26 points at the top of the table. Manchester United have won their last six matches. Arsenal are yet to lose this season.
